Two solar power plants of 300 MW are being installed with the help of World Bank. One plant of 150 MW is being installed in Manghopir and the other in Malir district. Both the projects will be completed by the end of 2023.
Solar power is cheaper electricity than all other power plants which is generated at the rate of Rs. 6 per unit. Although electricity will not be cheaper for the people for another 10 years. Generating electricity is a welcome thing.
A similar 100 MW power plant is being set up in Layyah Punjab which will be able to generate electricity on completion next year. The cost of generating electricity from Layyah power plant will be Rs. 5.50 per unit.
Abundant power generation from solar power plants will enable the country to provide cheap electricity to the industry and the people.
