  • 2 cups puffed rice
  • 1 cup roasted peanuts
  • 1 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1 cup finely chopped tomatoes
  • 1 cup boiled potatoes, diced
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped cucumber
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon mustard oil
  • 1 tablespoon tamarind chutney
  • 1 tablespoon mint-coriander chutney
  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Lime wedges for serving


  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the puffed rice, roasted peanuts, onions, tomatoes, potatoes, cucumber, coriander leaves, and green chilies.
  2. Drizzle the mustard oil over the mixture and toss everything together gently.
  3. Add the tamarind chutney and mint-coriander chutney to the mixing bowl and mix well.
  4. Sprinkle the chaat masala, red chili powder, and salt over the mixture and give it another toss to evenly coat everything.
  5. Serve the jhal muri with lime wedges on the side
