Japanese farmers have grown a new fruit, lemon melon, from a cross between a melon and a lemon, which is sweet, juicy and full of sourness at the same time.
A new round-shaped fruit has been grown by farmers in Japan’s second largest island, Hokkaido, and has been named Lemon Melon.

Cultivation of lemon melon is still practiced on a limited scale, with only five farmers in Hokkaido.
The new fruit is shaped like a melon but without the green stripes, while the inside is white.
The Japanese horticulture company that produces the fruit has said that it has done numerous experiments to grow new fruit during the last five years.
