A survey conducted to gauge public expectations regarding economic indicators in the country released a report of 42 participants expecting the IMF program to be extended and 40 percent not.

The next meeting of State Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee will be held on June 12, 2023. Topline Research’s survey has been released to assess the outlook for monetary policy.

According to the survey, the majority of the participants ie 69 percent do not expect any change in the policy rate, 23 percent of the participants expect an increase in the policy rate while 8 percent expect a decrease.

16 percent of participants expect an increase of 100 basis points while 7 percent of participants expect an increase of more than 100 basis points.

On the ninth review of the IMF, 42 participants expect the extension of the IMF program, while 40 percent of the participants expect that the IMF funding will not be implemented.
