The government has decided to privatize many government institutions. Sources said that the shares of some institutions will be sold to the public through the stock exchange, while the management control of many institutions will be handed over to the private sector.
Sources said that the shares of power distribution companies will be sold to the public through the stock exchange and State Life will also be listed in the stock exchange.
The shares of PIA Sui Northern and Sui Southern will also be sold from the stock exchange. The government is ready to hand over the management control of these institutions to the private sector. A separate quota of shares will be allocated for overseas Pakistanis.
The government has invited applications to hand over the control of Islamabad Airport to the private sector.
