A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan on inflation and economic situation. Sources said that the Prime Minister was briefed on the situation of inflation in the country and the effects of increase in prices of petroleum products were discussed in the meeting.
According to sources, the meeting decided to reduce taxes on food prices. Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the federal ministers to take steps to implement price control committees. The ministers should keep an eye on artificial inflation in their constituencies.
Sources said that strict measures should be taken against the perpetrators of artificial inflation and strict action should also be taken against the hoarders.
