The Secretary General of the OIC in his address said that the convening of a meeting on the issue of Afghanistan is welcome and the convening of the meeting and the excellent arrangements are commendable.
He said that by convening this meeting Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to the Afghan crisis and the world is watching the changing situation in Afghanistan.
He said that keeping in view the rapidly changing situation in Afghanistan, the OIC has always taken a strong stand on the Afghan issue.
He said that regional and international cooperation was needed for peace and stability in Afghanistan and peace in Afghanistan was essential for the region.
It should be noted that 70 delegations including Foreign Ministers of 20 countries and 10 Deputy Foreign Ministers are participating in this meeting.
Support of Summit will seek the international community and aid agencies to save the war torn Afghan people from poverty famine food crisis and cold weather for four decades.
