Caretaker Federal Minister for Railways, Communications and Maritime Affairs Shahid Ashraf Tarar inaugurated the fuel monitoring system based on information technology in Pakistan Railways.
The federal minister said that Pakistan Railways has decided to equip locomotives with advanced equipment for real-time online monitoring. The online system will save around 15 percent of fuel budget with operational efficiency and target maintenance.
The financial and operational efficiency of Railways will be enhanced, financial resources of Railways will be saved and wastage and theft will be reduced, a dashboard will be created where all relevant information will be available at a click Real time fuel consumption and refueling , will show average speed, time loss, real-time location and maintenance requirement.
Driver behavior and performance will also be analysed, the dashboard will show a red pop-up for abnormal increase/decrease in fuel consumption patterns, the system will automatically analyze data for better and timely decision-making, he said. will prepare the analysis.
