Ingredients.
500 grams of liver (goat or chicken)
2 onions (finely chopped)
2 tomatoes (finely chopped)
2-3 green chilies (finely chopped)
5-6 cloves of garlic (crushed)
1-inch piece of ginger (crushed)
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
Salt to taste
3-4 tablespoons of cooking oil
Fresh coriander (for garnish)
Instructions.
- Cleaning the Liver.
Wash the liver thoroughly and cut it into small pieces.
Soak the liver in salt, turmeric, and a little water for 10 minutes.
- Cooking the Liver.
Boil the liver in water until tender (approximately 15-20 minutes).
Once cooked, drain the liver and set it aside.
- Preparing the Tawa.
Heat oil in a pan.
Add onions and sauté until golden brown.
Now add garlic, ginger, green chilies, and tomatoes. Sauté well until the tomatoes soften.
- Adding Spices.
Red chili Turmeric coriander powder garam masala and salt. Mix well.
Now add the cooked liver and mix thoroughly.
- Cooking the Tawa Kaleji.
Cook the liver on low heat for 10-15 minutes so that the spices are well absorbed.
If needed, you can add a little water.
- Garnishing.
Finally, sprinkle freshly chopped coriander.
- Serving.
Serve the hot Tawa Kaleji with roti, paratha, or naan.
Suggestions.
If you want to make the liver more flavorful, you can marinate it in yogurt or lemon juice for 30 minutes.
Tawa Kaleji can also be served with chutney or salad.
