PM Imran Khan had sent a proposal to the President to dissolve the Assemblies which was approved by President Arif Ali.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said in a tweet that the PM will continue his responsibilities under Article 224 of the Constitution. The Cabinet has been dissolved.
Earlier in his address PM Imran Khan congratulated the nation and said that the nation would not allow such a conspiracy to succeed.
He said that the President has been advised to dissolve the assemblies and the people should prepare for the elections

Presiding over an important session of the National Assembly, Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri rejected the opposition’s no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
DS Qasim Suri termed the no-confidence motion of united opposition as unconstitutional.
He said that no foreigner has the right to bring a no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister.
He refused to vote on the no-confidence motion and adjourned the National Assembly indefinitely.
On the other hand, after the rejection of the no-confidence motion, the opposition staged a sit-in in the National Assembly. Opposition members chanted slogans against the government.
