Apart from Pakistan, Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) is being used in 8 countries including USA including EVM in USA, Australia, Belgium and India.
Electronic voting machines have been used in India since 1982, as well as in Brazil, Estonia, the Philippines and Venezuela.
Parliament also approved by a majority vote the Electoral Amendment Bill 2017 to further amend the Elections Act 2017, while the amendments proposed by the opposition were rejected. She used to keep it for her personal interests.
In a joint sitting of Parliament, Babar Awan, Advisor to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Parliamentary Affairs, moved a motion seeking immediate consideration of the Electoral Act 2017 to further amend the Election Amendment Bill 2021 under Article 70 (3) of the Constitution. Which was approved by the House and later clause wise approval of the Bill was sought from the House.
After being challenged by the opposition, 221 votes were cast in favor of the motion and 203 against it. Thus, the motion was approved.
At the same time, about 17 bills have been passed in the joint sitting of Parliament so far, while a total of 28 more bills will be introduced by the government in the House.
The government also introduced a major amendment bill in the House on EVM voting, electoral reform and the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Regarding the disqualification of the rapist in the Criminal Bill, the Jamaat-e-Islami had introduced its recommended amendment in which it was proposed that the culprit should be hanged in public.
The present government rejected the amendment proposed by the Jamaat-e-Islami and added a new provision in the law under which the perpetrator of abuse cannot be guaranteed.
In addition, the Federal Public Service Commission Bill 2021 to establish a corporate organizing companies university to prevent sexual violence against women and children.
