In the final match of the first round of the ICC T20 World Cup, Sri Lanka defeated the Netherlands by 8 wickets, after which the four qualifying teams in both groups of the T20 World Cup made it to the finals.

Kosala Perera scored 33 runs for Sri Lanka.

Earlier, none of the Netherlands batsmen could stand in front of Sir Lincoln bowlers and the entire team was bowled out for only 44 runs in 10 overs.

Colin Ackerman of the Netherlands was the top scorer with 11 runs while Lahore Kumara and Harasanga de Silva took 3.3 wickets each for Sri Lanka.

The first phase of the T20 World Cup has been completed, with Group A’s Sri Lanka and Group B’s Bangladesh joining Group 1 for the second phase.

Similarly, Namibia in Group A and Scotland in Group B have joined Group 1 for the second round.
