In the third match of the ICC T20 World Cup, Namibia won the toss and chose to bowl against Oman. Oman’s entire team was dismissed for 109 runs in 19.4 overs, setting a target of 110 runs for Namibia to win.
In the match held at Bridgetown, on the very first ball, Oman’s opening batter, Kashif Prajapati, was dismissed LBW by Trumpelmann. Trumpelmann also took out Oman’s captain, Aqib Ilyas, on the second ball of his first over. For Oman, Khalid Kail was the standout player, scoring 34 runs off 39 balls.
In the allotted overs, Namibia’s team managed to score 109 runs for the loss of six wickets, resulting in a tie. The match was then decided by a Super Over.
In the Super Over, Namibia set a target of 22 runs for Oman, which Oman failed to chase. Thus, the first Super Over of the World Cup took place, and Namibia emerged victorious, with David Wiese leading them to victory in the Super Over.
