Supreme Court declared the rolling of the Deputy Speaker unconstitutional and restored the National Assembly.

Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Suri’s ruling on April 3 has been decided by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in a tone notice case in which the National Assembly has been restored by declaring the Deputy Speaker’s rolling unconstitutional.

Five- member bench of the apex court unanimously ruled that the April 3 rolling of the deputy speaker and dissolution of the National Assembly was unconstitutional, after which the apex court restored the National Assembly.

Supreme Court in its decision directed the National Speaker to convene a meeting of the National Assembly on April 9.
Delivering a brief judgment Chief Justice Omar Ata Bandial also annulled the way taken by the President and Prime Minister for the conformation of caretaker government and restored thepre-rolling situation of the Deputy Speaker.

Ordering the disposal of the no- confidence stir as soon as possible, he directed that the assembly session shouldn’t be suspended indefinitely.

Five- member larger bench headed by the Chief Justice had completed the hail of the suo motu notice case relating to the Speaker’s rolling in the Supreme Court and reserved the verdict.

A large number of leaders of PTI and opposition parties were present in the court room to hear the verdict. Security was tensed in the Supreme Court and unauthorized persons were barred from entering.

Five- member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Ata Bandial heard the most important case which also included Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan, Justice Muneeb Akhtar, Justice Mazhar Alam Mian Khel and Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel.

A five- member larger bench headed by the Chief Justice reached the court room at8.26 am to gasp the verdict.

Before publicizing the verdict, the Supreme Court summoned Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja to the Supreme Court, whereupon he rushed to the apex court.

Before the verdict was blazoned by the Supreme Court, Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had submitted expostulations to the Supreme Court regarding electoral reforms. The Chief Justice had asked Bilawal to submit the details before 730 pm.

Chief Justice of Pakistan said that we will move forward only after seeing the public interest and practical possibilities. Moment the rupee has downgraded. We need a strong government, not a weak one.

During the hail in the Supreme Court, the Chief Justice of Pakistan remarked that the Assemblies couldn’t be dissolved during the no- confidence stir. It’s unconstitutional to do so. No vote of no confidence is needed for voting. Speakers rolling has paved the way for dissolution of the Assembly.

If anyone is failing also billions of rupees are spent on holding new choices.
In a discussion with the Attorney General, the Chief Justice said that if you say that if the assembly is restored also there will be fights in the thoroughfares. We want Parliament to succeed and continue to serve.
