- Rice: ½ kg
- Ghee or oil: ¾ cup
- Whole garam masala: 1 tablespoon
- Fried onions: ½ cup
- Garlic paste: 1 teaspoon
- Red chili powder: 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric: ½ teaspoon
- Salt: 2 teaspoons
- Yogurt: ½ teaspoon
- Potatoes: 2 (cut into cubes)
- Carrots: 2 (sliced)
- Peas: 1 cup
- Tomatoes: 2 (chopped)
Soak the rice for 30 minutes.
Heat ghee in a pot, add whole garam masala, fried onions, garlic paste, and ¼ cup of water. Sauté well.
Then add red chili powder, turmeric, salt, and yogurt. Sauté again.
Next, add chopped potatoes, carrots, and peas, and fry for 10 minutes.
Add 1 cup of water and cook until the vegetables are tender.
After that, add the soaked rice and 2 cups of water. Cook until the water dries.
Finally, add green chilies and tomatoes, cover, and let it steam dum.
Serve it with boondi raita at the end.
