1.The World’s First Nuclear Energy-Powered Plant (KANUPP)
Inventor. Dr. AQ Khan & Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission
Year 1972.
In 1972, Pakistan established the Karachi Nuclear Power Plant (KANUPP), the world’s first commercial nuclear power plant that used plutonium-based fuel instead of uranium. This invention reflects Pakistan’s expertise in nuclear technology.
- The OCTA Vaccine for Children.
Inventor Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman & Hamdard Laboratories
Year 1990s.
Pakistani scientists developed the OCTA vaccine, which is used to protect children from various diseases. This vaccine is used in Pakistan and several other developing countries and has also been approved by the World Health Organization (WHO).
3.The World’s First “No-Cold” Injection.
Inventor Dr. Samia Mumtaz
Year 2015.
Dr. Samia Mumtaz invented an injection that does not require refrigeration. This innovation proved revolutionary, especially in the delivery of polio vaccines as previously, vaccines needed a continuously cold environment for preservation.
- Affordable & Effective Hepatitis C Treatment.

Year 2010.
Pakistani doctors developed a low-cost and effective treatment for Hepatitis C, making the disease completely curable. Pakistan made this treatment widely available to the public, leading to its global recognition.
5.Pakistani Drone Technology (Burraq UAV).

Pakistan developed the Burraq drone a state-of-the-art armed UAV capable of surveillance and targeted strikes. Used by the Pakistani military, it is considered one of the most advanced drones in the world.

This is an affordable and eco-friendly solar lamp designed to address electricity shortages in Pakistan’s remote areas. Introduced under The Liter of Light Project it has won several international awards.
- Pak Voice (Voice Recognition Software)

Pakistan developed an advanced voice recognition system for Urdu and other local languages, which is now used worldwide. This software plays a key role in call centers and artificial intelligence (AI) applications.
