National Assembly convenes on Friday March 25, at 11:00 AM.

The meeting has been called on the relocation submitted by the opposition.

The National Assembly has been convened under Article 54 (3) and Article 254 of the Constitution, exercising its delegated powers.

According to sources, a consultative meeting was held under the chairmanship of Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser in which the date of convening the assembly session was considered.

Sources in the National Assembly said that on the first day of the meeting, only the deceased member Khayal Zaman would be offered Fateha and the proceedings would be adjourned till the next day.

Yesterday, opposition parties demanded that the National Assembly convene on March 21.

The opposition had filed a recusal motion to convene the National Assembly on March 8 and a no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister.

The OIC Foreign Ministers are meeting in Islamabad on March 22 and 23. The process of their return will be completed on March 24. Therefore, the Assembly is being convened on March 25.

Rules Speaker of the National Assembly is required to convene a meeting within 14 days.
