The motion to introduce Election Amendment Bill 2021 has been approved. Adviser Parliamentary Affairs Babar Awan moved the motion for Election Amendment Bill 2021.
Earlier, the Speaker of the National Assembly had started the voting process on the motion of Election Amendment Bill 2021. The Speaker of the National Assembly said that the members should stand in favor of the bill. Senators supported the government bill.
In addition, government and coalition members also stood on their seats. Voters against the bill also stood on their seats.
It is to be noted that a joint sitting of the Parliament is underway in which the government will introduce a number of important bills for the approval of electronic voting machine for overseas Pakistanis besides electoral reforms including voting rights.
