Islamabad Economist Muzamil Aslam made important revelations about electricity bills.

Muzamil Aslam said that we are paying the rent of power plants 2 thousand billion rupees, 52 rupees per unit is only 6 rupees for fuel and the remaining 45 rupees goes to the rent of power plants.

On the nationwide protest against expensive electricity, the economist said that those with 100 and 200 units are entitled to subsidy. In Karachi, some factories get domestic gas and such factories make electricity from gas.

Economist said that K Electric produces electricity and the distribution company has also installed solar panels at the K Electric head office.

We are paying the rent of two thousand billion rupees for the power plants, which is many times more than the national development expenditure of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the budget of the army.

He said that the electricity bill of the entire Pakistan is 4 thousand 200 billion rupees, 52 rupees per unit is only 6 rupees for fuel and the remaining 45 rupees goes to the rent of power plants.

KP budget is 1400 billion rupees and army’s 1800 billion rupees. Last year, the development budget of Pakistan was 500 billion rupees. Imagine how Pakistan is being looted.
