3 December A Day to Recognize Disability Rights and Inclusion.
M.Mohsin
Every year, 3 December is observed as International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The purpose of this day is to ensure that individuals with physical, mental or sensory disabilities are recognized, respected, and included in society. Disability is not a weakness — it is a different way of experiencing life.
History proves that a wheelchair cannot stop a mind from achieving greatness. People with disabilities can excel in science, business, education, technology, arts and leadership, if only society provides space, acceptance, and opportunity.
Challenges & Rights
Barriers to education
Limited employment acceptance
Restricted access to healthcare and support systems
Social stereotypes and discrimination
What We Must Do
Provide accessible buildings and public spaces
Ensure inclusive education at all levels
Promote equal employment opportunities
Treat them with dignity — not sympathy
True disability lies not in the body, but in society’s unwillingness to accept differences.
