FBR is considering imposing a normal sales tax regime on imported mobile phones. The upcoming mobile phone will get a lot of support.
Sources said that changes are also being considered in the Finance Supplementary Bill for 17% sales tax on imported mobile phones. The Supplementary Finance Bill is also part of the negotiations with the IMF.
Approval of the National Assembly is required to bring a supplementary bill and the government has to bring a supplementary bill to end the tax exemption of Rs 350 billion.
FBR has proposed to abolish every fixed tax regime on imported mobile phones. The fixed tax on imported mobile phones worth 1 501 is Rs 9,270. It will be up to Rs 15,000
