ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister has directed to introduce a system of punishment in the education system at the national level.

According to details, a review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan on issues related to promotion of higher education in the country. Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood, Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, Planning Minister Asad Umar, Special Assistant Senior officers attended.

The meeting was informed that for the current financial year 2021-22, the Higher Education Commission will be allocated Rs 42 billion for the implementation of 168 projects for the promotion of higher education in the country. Among these projects, 128 ongoing projects worth Rs 29 billion. While 40 new projects worth Rs 12 billion are included.

Prime Minister Imran Khan directed the concerned authorities to complete the important projects for the promotion of higher education on priority basis to ensure efficient utilization of national resources. Also instructed to review.

The Prime Minister directed to set up a system to ensure high quality education in the various universities run by the federal government in the provinces and to make the best use of the financial resources provided by the federation. He directed to introduce a system of punishment and retribution to ensure effective implementation of government policies for the promotion of higher education.

The Prime Minister also stressed on the need to promote the technical and vocational education system so that the youth could be equipped with the knowledge and skills as per the requirements of the modern age to enable them to take advantage of the existing opportunities.
