ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has stressed on the need to formulate a collective strategy at the regional level to address common challenges.

Addressing the inaugural session of Islamabad CONCLAVE 2021, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that major issues of the region including Kashmir and Afghanistan could be resolved only through dialogue.

The Prime Minister urged world leaders to play their part in averting a possible humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan and to restore Afghanistan’s frozen assets to save Afghanistan from a humanitarian catastrophe.

He said that we made every effort for peace with India but unfortunately the Indian government under the leadership of Modi considered every step as our weakness. For our future it is necessary that there be peace in Afghanistan. C-Pack is very important for us which is taking advantage of which new blocs are being formed in the world. Pakistan will do its best to prevent new blocs from being formed. We do not want to be a part of any bloc.

The Prime Minister said that under the geographical and economic strategy, Pakistan wants to enhance its relations with the countries of the region to increase its trade. He said that in this regard, we are striving to reap maximum benefits from China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

He added that climate change is another challenge that needs to be addressed through collective action on a priority basis.

Addressig on the occasion, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that regional cooperation was essential for the prosperity of South Asia.
