ISLAMABAD: Ordinance 2021 has been issued to give the right to vote to overseas Pakistanis and electronic voting machines.

According to the details, section (1) 94 and section 103 of the Election Act 2017 have been amended in this regard. Cross will enable Pakistanis to vote.

According to the ordinance, the Election Commission will seek technical assistance from NADRA or any other authority or agency, while the Election Commission will also be required to purchase electronic voting machines for voting in the general elections.

The ordinance has changed the voting facility for overseas Pakistanis to electronic voting while the provisions related to pilot schemes for biometric verification machines have also been changed.

Earlier today, the Election Commission had set up an online complaint management system for complaints using the new technology. The new management system allows people from all over the world to lodge election-related complaints, in addition to the Chief Election Commissioner and other concerned. Complaints can be lodged with the authorities. With the introduction of the new system, more than 600 complaints have been received.
