Islamabad: No bench has authority to take suo motu notice SC.

According to the details, the Supreme Court has pronounced a reserved verdict in the case of the method of taking suo motu notice. CJ Umar Ata Bandial read out the verdict. The Supreme Court has withdrawn the order issued by a two-member bench on August 20. Has disposed of the petitions filed by the journalists. The matter of the petitions of the journalists has been referred to the Chief Justice.

The Supreme Court has said in its judgment that no bench has the power to take suo motu notice. The bench may recommend to the Chief Justice to take notice. The Chief Justice will decide what to do with the request of journalists.

The Supreme Court has said that all the notices taken by the benches will be heard as per normal. The notices of the benches will be heard only by the bench constituted by the Chief Justice. The approval of the Chief Justice will be required to do so.
