Islamabad government decides to screen Pakistani films.

Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry has said that it is necessary to revive the film industry in Pakistan. Exhibition of Punjabi and Indian films should not be restricted but international films should also be allowed to be screened in Pakistan.

On this, the entire cabinet has unanimously decided that Punjabi and Indian films as well as international films will be allowed to come to Pakistan for screening.

He said that in the 70’s we had 780 cinemas but now there are only 78 cinemas and if we do not take immediate steps to revive cinema and film then our film industry which is almost stagnant will be completely shut down. We are bringing a film package for this and we have also taken practical steps to revive the cinema and it will be announced by next week.
