In the fifth match of Pakistan Super League season seven, Islamabad United easily defeated Peshawar Zalmi by 9 wickets.

In the match played at National Stadium Karachi, Islamabad United won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Peshawar Zalmi scored 168 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and gave Zalmi a target of 169 runs to win.

Peshawar Zalmai’s Sherfane Rutherford remained unbeaten on 70. Innings his included 7 fours and 3 sixes. Ben Cutting 26 while captain Shoaib Malik scored 26 runs.

For Islamabad United, Hassan Ali and Faheem Ashraf took 2.2 wickets while Shadab Khan and Faheem Ashraf took 1.1 wickets.

Islamabad completed the target set by Peshawar Zalmai at a loss of 1 wicket in the 16th over.

Alex Hales remained unbeaten on 82 for Islamabad United. Innings his included 13 fours and one six. Paul Stirling scored 57 while Rehmanullah Garbaz remained unbeaten on 27.

Islamabad United lost a wicket in pursuit of the target which was run out by Wahab Riaz to Paul Sterling.

Paul Stirling was named Man of the Match for his superb innings.
