The DG FIA has sought respite for the audit report of flour and sugar commission of inquiry

According to sources, DG FIA Wajid Zia sought a two-week deadline for the audit report of the Commission of Inquiry into the flour and sugar scandal, which was approved.

The DG FIA has been given a period of 2 weeks for the audit report while 2 officers have also been added in the forensic audit team.

Arsalan Wattoo from Lahore and Ayaz Khan from Islamabad have been included. The team will visit various sugar mills and the audit report will be submitted to the Prime Minister in two weeks.
It may be recalled that an inquiry report on the flour and sugar crisis has been issued on the orders of Prime Minister Imran Khan. The report was prepared by FIA chief Wajid Zia. The names of prominent political families are included. Before making the report public, Prime Minister Imran Khan had reviewed it himself.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that further action would be taken when the report of the commission came out on April 25. Anyone involved after the report of the commission would be prosecuted under the law.
