Lahore: Train operation across the country started from today

Arrangements have been made at Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Quetta and Peshawar railway stations in this regard.
The light speed train will leave Lahore for Rawalpindi at 7:30 am. Two trains have left Rawalpindi Railway Station early in the morning. Three trains are being run from Peshawar Cantt station today.

The Karakoram Express will leave Lahore for Karachi at 3 pm. The Pak Business Express will leave Lahore for Karachi at 4:30 pm. The Shah Hussain Express will leave Lahore for Karachi at 7 pm. The Pakistan Express from Rawalpindi will carry 393 passengers. The second train left Karachi for Lahore.

SOPs for train travel

Railway Department has issued SOPs for train travel. Disinfectant spray will be sprayed at every stop station of the train every one hour. Disinfectant spray will be under the supervision of Medical Officer. Trains from Karachi to Lahore, Rawalpindi and Peshawar will go via Multan. Medical officer will be on duty 24 hours at each station.

The owner will be responsible for spraying food and drink stalls at the station. Railway and district police will be responsible for up to 200 meters around the station. SHO will be responsible for any unauthorized person’s presence at the station. The medical officer will be responsible for the implementation of the social distance SOP among the passengers. The train staff will be responsible for the implementation.

Passengers will be allowed to enter the station one hour before the departure of the train. The area up to 200 meters from the station will be closed for unnecessary persons. During the lockdown, the railway administration has also decided to run a special train on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. The special train has been kept secret by the Karachi division railway administration. This special train will run from Karachi to Peshawar on May 21. A total of 14 coaches will be deployed, 12 coaches will be economy and 2 will be AC ​​class.

Passengers have been booked in the special train from March 25 to May 19, while new bookings have been made in exchange for the old tickets. Passengers will be notified of the departure of the special train by phone and any kind of passenger tickets. No deductions will be made.
