ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has won the National Assembly by getting 178 votes of confidence.

The National Assembly chaired by Speaker Asad Qaiser started with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the national anthem.

The Prime Minister was present in the House while more than 175 members of PTI and allied parties were also in their seats. the opposition has boycotted the important session of the National Assembly.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi presented a resolution of confidence to the Prime Minister after which the bells were rung in the House for 5 minutes and then all the doors were closed so that no member could come out.

After which the Speaker asked the members to register their votes and directed the members voting in favor of the Prime Minister to go to the lobby on the right.

The process of voting for confidence in the Prime Minister was completed in the National Assembly after which the Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser directed the counting.

After the voting process, the bells rang again, after which the members in the lobbies returned to the hall. Announcing the results, the Speaker of the National Assembly said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had managed to get a vote of confidence. Imran Khan got 178 votes earlier in 2018. Imran Khan got 176 votes.

After the resolution was passed, the Prime Minister went to the seat of government coalition members and thanked them. After taking the vote of confidence, Prime Minister Imran Khan addressed the National Assembly.

Imran Khan is believed to be the second prime minister in Pakistan’s history to win a vote of confidence in the National Assembly by a clear majority. Had asked for a vote.
