According to details, a meeting of the National Coordination Committee chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan will be held tomorrow in which provincial chief ministers, senior officials of military and civil institutions will be present while federal ministers, assistants and special chairman NDMA will also participate.
The meeting of the National Coordinating Committee will consider in detail the current and expected situation of Corona virus and will take important decisions regarding softening of lockdown.
The Chairman NDMA and Health Advisor will give a briefing on the health situation while SOPs will be approved before easing the lockdown and it is also likely that the public will be required to wear face masks in public places.
Later, Prime Minister Imran Khan will also take the nation into confidence on important decisions.
Yesterday, a meeting of the National Command and Operations Center, chaired by Federal Minister Asad Omar, had formulated proposals for easing lockdown and opening of commercial centers. If approved, it would be implemented by May 31.
The NCOC proposed to open inter-provincial transport.
And it was made conditional on the implementation of SOPs, while there was also a proposal to increase facilities for the construction industry.
The meeting decided to activate special OPDs in Islamabad hospitals and also proposed to increase the working hours of commercial centers from 9 am to 5 pm and then from 8 pm to 10 pm.
Federal Minister for Information Shibli Faraz said that the softening will be decided by the provinces. The Prime Minister wants consensus in all decisions. The war against Corona can be won only by taking precaution.
It may be recalled that the federal cabinet has already approved the easing of the lockdown. The Punjab government is in favor of easing the lockdown and Balochistan has extended the lockdown till May 19 while the Sindh government is awaiting the federal decision to ease the lockdown.
Earlier, the federal government had decided to ease the lockdown. Prime Minister Imran Khan, while announcing a gradual reduction in the lockdown, told PTI assembly members that the economic situation was going to make important decisions keeping in view the ground realities. ۔
The Prime Minister said that in view of the problems of the common man, the lockdown would be gradually eased. Comprehensive SOPs based on security measures have been prepared. Public representatives should play an active role in the implementation of SOPs.
