ISLAMABAD: PM Imran Khan has directed not to impose more tax burden on the people.

A meeting of the Economic Advisory Council was held under the chairmanship of PM Imran Khan in which the new Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen and economists participated. The Prime Minister welcomed all the members to the Economic Advisory Council.

The PM directed not to impose more tax burden on the people and said that out-of-the-box solutions should be proposed for relief instead of imposing more taxes.

The meeting, Imran Khan directed the Economic Advisory Council to present a roadmap for economic stability and sustainable growth and to ensure full functioning of the council for suggestions on economic issues.

He said that the purpose of the Economic Advisory Council was to utilize the suggestions of economists.

The Prime Minister further said that making the reforms in the tax system easier and more functional is the top priority of the government and a roadmap based on measures for sustainable economic stability and development should be proposed.
