ISLAMABAD: Government nominee Sadiq Sanjrani has been elected chairman Senate for the second time in a row.

For the first time, the name of Sadiq Sanjarani was suggested from Balochistan. This time, the government nominated him as the chairman of the Senate immediately after the Senate elections.

Who is Sadiq Sanjarani?

Mir Sadiq Sanjarani hails from Nokandi area of ​​Chaghi district in Balochistan. His father Khan Muhammad Asif Sanjarani is one of the tribal leaders of the area while he has also been a member of Chaghi district council.

Mir Sadiq Sanjarani was born on April 14, 1978 in Nokandi area of ​​Chaghi district of Balochistan. He received his early education in Nokandi, later did his MA from Balochistan University and moved to Islamabad.

Mir Sadiq Sanjarani is the eldest of five brothers. One of his brothers, Ejaz Sanjarani, has been an adviser to the finance department under Nawab Sanaullah Zehri. Despite the change of government in the last general election, Chief Minister Abdul Qaddos Bizenjo Retained the post.

Another brother of Mir Sadiq Sanjarani, Mohammad Raziq Sanjarani has also been the Managing Director of the Sandik Project.

Mir Sadiq Sanjarani has also been the aide (coordinator) of former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif in 1998. Later, in 2008, when Yousuf Raza Gilani took over as Prime Minister, he set up a grievance cell headed by Mir Sadiq Sanjarani, where he served as head of affairs for five years.

Three years ago, Mir Sadiq Sanjarani was nominated as a candidate for the post of Chairman Senate by the Chief Minister of Balochistan, on which the PPP, PTI and Muttahida Qaumi Movement announced their support.

In the year 2018, Abdul Qaddos Bizenjo and Mir Sadiq Sanjarani were elected as Senators by contesting elections from Balochistan as independents. It should be remembered that Sadiq Sanjarani has never had any connection with public politics. The business extends beyond Balochistan to Dubai.
