Syria’s state news agency confirmed that Israel had fired several missiles at the attacks, but said no casualties had been reported.The israeli officials did not immediately return a request for comment.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the targets were military bases and weapons depots for Iranian-backed militants.
Also last week, Israel fired missiles at the outskirts of the Syrian capital, which were stopped by Syrian air defenses.
Nine fighters allied with the Syrian government were also killed in an Israeli airstrike on Iranian targets in central Syria on October 14, at a time when Syria has accused Israel of invading the south of the country.
Fearing Iran’s growing regional influence and military presence in Syria, Israel has carried out hundreds of attacks in Syria in recent years, but rarely acknowledges or talks about such actions.
