The Ministry of Health has announced that another type of deadly virus has managed to reach Pakistan, informed Task Force on Covid 19.
Member Javed Akram of the scientific task force, said that a dangerous type of code 19 called Epsilon has been detected.
The species originated in California, which is why it is called the California variety, or B.1.429, after which it spread to the United Kingdom and other European countries.
He said that now cases of this new wave are also emerging in Pakistan and so far five different types of Epsilon and seven mutations have been found which has made it more contagious.
Dr. Javed Akram said that we need to understand that the virus has been controlled but not eradicated so there is a possibility of its re-spread.
With the help of gene sequencing, 40 people in Pakistan have been confirmed to be infected with the virus.
The positive side is that all vaccines are effective against Epsilon, so people should get vaccinated and follow the standard procedure SOP he said.
It should be noted that according to the latest data released by the National Command and Operations Center, during the fourth wave of Corona virus in the country, 622 new cases of Corona were detected in the last 24 hours. During the last 24 hours, 44,334 tests of the virus were conducted in the country in which the rate of positive cases was 1.40%.
