🥣 Ingredients
For Daal:
Red or Moong Lentils: 1 cup
Water: 4 cups
Turmeric Powder: ½ tsp
Salt: to taste
For Tarka:
Desi Ghee or Oil: 3 tbsp
Onion (finely chopped): 1
Garlic (crushed): 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds: ½ tsp
Red Chili Powder: ½ tsp
For Rice:
Basmati Rice: 1 cup
Water: 2 cups
Salt: to taste
👨🍳 Cooking Method
Wash lentils and boil with water, turmeric, and salt until soft.
Heat ghee in a pan and fry onions until golden.
Add garlic, cumin seeds, and red chili powder; sauté until aromatic.
Pour the prepared tarka over the cooked lentils and mix well.
Cook rice separately with water and salt until fluffy.
Serve hot daal chawal with salad or pickle.
