Sheikh Rashid said that we have not arrested two members of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam National Assembly but they are sitting in the police station of their own free will. They have been on our side, we will not arrest Maulana Fazlur Rehman either. The company will not be advertised.
He further added that the law would take stern action against the perpetrators and those who resorted to violence would be crushed.
Sheikh Rashid on the appeal of Maulana Fazlur Rehman to block the roads said that where the road is closed, they will be dealt with according to law.
Sheikh Rashid also aired a video statement of an Ansarul Islam official during his press conference.
In his statement, he had said that we do not have good information.
Sheikh Rashid said that these 70 people were brought and their clothes were changed in their lodges. We negotiated for five hours to hand over these people to us. People of Ansar-ul-Islam are also coming back. We will try to stop them.
Islamabad police in an operation in the presence of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) bodyguard Ansar-ul-Islam activists in Parliament Lodges arrested several persons.
Operation was carried out in the Parliament Lodges under the command of DIG Operations.
Media expelled from Parliament Lodges after which the police personnel broke the door of Salahuddin Ayubi’s lodge and started making arrests.
Police have transfer 10 persons to the police station secretariat. Among those arrested are JUI National Assembly member Salahuddin Ayubi Jamaluddin and JUI Islamabad spokesman Mufti Abdullah.
Police operation against Ansar-ul-Islam lasted for 30 minutes during which several leaders of changed their clothes and left the lodges.
After the police operation more police personnel have been deployed in Parliament Lodges while the team conducting the operation has left Parliament Lodges.
