The Islamabad government has fulfilled another condition of the IMF by issuing ordinances from the President’s House to free four government institutions from government patronage.
The President has approved ordinances related to Radio Pakistan, NHA, Pakistan National Shipping Corporation and Postal Services. Government patronage was abolished.
The government has also decided to free PTV Customs and Pakistan Steel from government patronage and it has been decided to bring a presidential ordinance for them.
A framework has been prepared to change the administrative structure of these four government institutions with poor performance and in the future these four government institutions will also work under the auspices of the independent board.
According to the sources, the management board of the autonomous government institutions will consist of 6 to 12 members.
