SAN FRANCISCO: Photo and video sharing app Instagram has taken an important step to curb nasty comments on social media.
According to international media reports, Facebook-owned website Instagram has decided to stifle the voices of users who use abusive or obscene language through comments on its platform.
Following the steps taken by the Instagram administration, Naziba comments on the post will automatically disappear without being reported.
A statement from the company said, “Words that have been reported or blocked by users in the past have been added to the system. If any user writes these words now, their comments will disappear.”
According to the spokesperson, “under the Artificial Intelligence System, vulgar comments and vulgar words have been identified.”
Comments on any of the Instagram posts will not be visible, but will be replaced with ‘View Hidden Comments’, which any user who clicks will be able to read the comment.
