ISLAMABAD: We will end the tradition of giving tickets to capitalists and landlords from the country.

According to details, a meeting of the PTI Parliamentary Board was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister in which the recommendations of the Parliamentary Board regarding Senate tickets were presented to Imran Khan.

The Prime Minister said that tickets would be given to people who would work for better public welfare legislation.

Sources said that in the recommendations of the parliamentary board, it was proposed to make Shibli Faraz a senator once again while Hafeez Sheikh’s name has been shortlisted for technocrats.

According to sources, Kamil Ali Agha’s name has also been shortlisted from the coalition party. Among women, Sania Nishtar and Dr Zarqa have also been shortlisted.

It may be mentioned that the Election Commission of Pakistan has released the schedule of Senate elections in which it has been stated that polling for 48 seats in the Senate elections will be held on March 3.

The ECP said that 52 senators will retire on March 11, candidates will be able to submit nomination papers on February 12 and 13, while scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on February 15 and 16.

According to the schedule, in case of rejection of nomination papers, appeals will be heard between February 17 and 18 and the final list of candidates will be posted on February 21, while nomination papers can be withdrawn on February 22.
