Islamabad United beat Lahore Qalandars by 1 wicket

LAHORE: In the seventh match of the PSL, Islamabad United defeated Lahore Qalandars by 1 wicket after a sensational match.
The match between Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars started at 7pm at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Islamabad United decided to field first against the Lahore Qalandars and the Qalandars gave United a target of 183 runs. In pursuit of the target, Islamabad United were outscored at the start and Luke Ronak was dismissed by Shaheen Afridi for a score of 3 while Colin Munrok Mohammad Hafeez scored for Pavilion on 2 for 5.
 Captain Shadab Khan added 57 runs with David Milan but David Milan was dismissed for a catch. Shadab Khan was out for a total of 91 after making 52 and then Colin Ingram came on the crease but he too returned to the pavilion with 114 off 14 balls.

Islamabad United’s batsmen started to increase their scores in pursuit of 183 runs, but their wickets also dropped during this time. Islamabad took the match to a thrilling end despite five key players being out, till the last over, Islamabad United needed 9 runs to win with one wicket remaining. Mohamed Musa paved the way for his win by giving Shaheen Shinwari the first ball of the last over. Islamabad United completed their target of 183 for four.
Earlier, Lahore Qalandar gave Islamabad United a target of 183 while displaying excellent play. Lahore Qalandars opener Chris Lane scored only 11 runs, after which Mohammad Hafeez combined with a proud score. Zaman scored 33 and Mohammad Hafeez contributed 67 runs. Sohail Akhtar was able to score one run after proud time, while Dan Velas, who scored 3 runs, also returned to the Pavilion in the 100th. Shadab Khan took 2 wickets for Islamabad United.

It is thought that Islamabad United were beaten by the Quetta Gladiators in the opening match. However, in the match played yesterday, Islamabad United defeated the Multan Sultans.
