Islamabad Economic Co- ordination Committee approves Ramadan Relief package

 After which the commodity prices were fixed by the utility stores announced.

According to details, MD Utility Stores Omar Lodhi says that under the special package, subsidy will be provided on 19 items in Ramadan and Ramadan relief package will continue from April 17 till Eid.

He said that the current prices of flour, sugar, pulses and sugarcane would remain intact. A 20 kg bag of flour is available for Rs. 800 at utility stores. The price per kg of sugar will remain at Rs 68.

Omar Lodhi said that 15 percent subsidy will be given on beverages and 10 percent subsidy will be given on basin. At least 5 percent subsidy will be given on palm and 8 to 10 percent subsidy on tea.

He added that the Economic Coordinating Committee directed the opening of more utility stores across the country.

It is to be remembered that on April 8, a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee chaired by Advisor Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Shaikh approved the Ramadan relief package of Rs 2.5 billion.
